Empty Classroom Day

Islington Play Association is pleased to be supporting the Empty Classroom Day campaign!

Open Letter to Schools

Dear Teachers,

On Thursday 18th May 2017 schools are being encouraged to bring the classroom outdoors for Empty Classroom Day. Empty Classroom Day is a worldwide event being organised to celebrate and promote learning and play outside of the classroom. We would like to invite all schools to join us (for free) on the day and celebrate at one of our six adventure playgrounds in Islington anytime between 11.00am - 3.30pm. If the date is not suitable we would be happy to accommodate you on another date of your choosing.

Adventure playgrounds are inspirational places, offering children and young people opportunities to develop confidence, self-esteem and a sense of achievement through hands on experiences in a natural environment. Islington Play Association's team of qualified practitioners, trained in child development and play theories can facilitate sessions with you to gain personal outcomes for each and every child.

Whether you plan to go bug hunting for science, teach maths with natural materials, or would like to see how inspired children are after an extended playtime with loose materials, the creative opportunities available on our adventure playgrounds are endless. If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity, please contact Quoc Truong on 020 7607 9637 or info@islingtonplay.org.uk.
